If Chivas is the most popular team in Mexico, how come their stadium never gets full?

1)Because Atlas has all the fans in Jalisco





2)Because America has more fans in Jalisco





3)Because the majority of Chivas fans are glory hunters and only go to the stadium when they are doing good.

In Mexico the tickets are no longer sold to whoever just shows up, now they have to have a certain number of tickets aside for the visiting team. That is why those fans are always in the same section of El Jalisco. Teams whose stadiums don't have the fans issue they continue to just sell them to open public because they won't fill the stadium anyway. (No offense to any other team) Only some teams have the luxury to do this, everyone else takes what they can.





I'll give you an example. Final Chivas vs Toluca, played in Toluca: Throughout the entire game you could hear the chant Chivas!!!! Chivas!!!! Chivas!!!! Not once that I remember you heard Toluca. Tickets were sold to open public becuase the Toluca fans were not going to fill up the stadium, but in the first game in El Jalisco you saw and heard La Perra Brava chant because the number of tickets were regulated to give visiting fans the opportunity to attend.





Remember another thing, Chivas for the most part the last few years has been playing double tournaments. Making it two or three games in a week. Guadalajara is soccer crazy but even then you can only go to so many games, so people tent to go to the most important ones or when the main rivals show up. The consequense of this is when Chivas as a visitor filll up the stadium of the home team.





You ever seen the Azteca when Chivas and America play is pretty much cut in half, because of America is another team who has to regulate the number of tickets. For the most part all the other teams like Atlas don't have this problem, you ever seen the Atlante stadium full? or the Necaxa stadium? not a chance and they're teams with great history.

The stadium seats around 70,000-80,000. That's a lot of seats.


The premier league only has an average attendance of 28,000. That will clear some things up. Chivas probably only average 30,000-40,000. Thats enough for any team to have. The stadium just looks super empty! but its not. No team in Mexico ever fills the stadium day in and day out.|||They fill all the stadiums when they play on the road. Also, they are always amongst the most searched soccer teams (for both Google and Yahoo).





In fact (globally) for 2008 they ranked third behind manchester united and chelsea as Google's most searched soccer teams. Ranking ahead of barcelona and arsenal.

im sure other teams go thru it. But talk about it in the apertura 06. Games were packed. And yes Chivas needs to get that game level pa que se llene el jalisco. You could fill your house only but that doesn't mean your the most popular.
